Meet Ida and Tomos.

Their Job is pretty simple. They make high protein coffee out of the finest ingredients available.

But why high protein coffee?

Because they both LOVE coffee and drink protein shakes daily. For years, they were creating their own high-protein coffees at home (well, Ida was creating; Tomos was drinking) as they couldn’t find anything on the market that wasn’t packed full of sugar.

Ida and Tomos started Melb Milk in 2022 in the western suburbs of Melbourne because they were frustrated. Frustrated with the lack of healthy options for iced coffees, frustrated with the amount of sugar and junk ingredients pumped into everything on the market, and frustrated that the Australian ready-to-drink coffee scene is dominated by large multinational corporations that have made it impossible for smaller, higher-quality local producers to enter.

So, they took matters into their own hands…

They immersed themselves in the food industry, uncovering the ingredients and processes behind everyday products. Along the way, they found plenty of misleading information and unnecessary additives.

They brought together top-notch food scientists who, like them, were frustrated with the dominance of big food corporations in the Australian market. Juggling full-time jobs, raising a young family, and spending every spare moment in the lab (testing an ungodly amount of coffee), they finally crafted a recipe that would revolutionise the Australian coffee space.

It wasn’t easy. Their first production run turned to glue in the factory! When the big corporations caught wind of their plans, they bought up all the manufacturing space across Australia in an attempt to shut them out. But through all the challenges, they kept pushing.

Since then, a few things have changed…

They've found a world-leading manufacturing partner who shares their belief that everyday people deserve high-quality products. They are also just as committed to making sure Melb Milk’s iced lattes will always be made with the highest quality ingredients in the most nutritionally sound way possible. There is no other product on the market that comes close.
